Kamalayan is an annual art exhibit for raising awareness towards a theme that changes every year. For 2017, the exhibit addressed Indigenous Tribes in the Philippines.
Depicted in my artwork is a man from the Tau’t-Batu tribe wandering with his makeshift tool for hunting. The Tau’t-Batu tribe is the last discovered tribe in the island of Palawan, Philippines. The print was sold and donated to Kamalayan’s cause.
